On September 11th and 12th, 150 bulk solids handling experts from all over the world met for the BulkEurope 2008 in the golden city of Prague.

BulkEurope 2008, the second in a row of conferences throughout Europe, aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry. The conference programme consisted of 56 presentations with authors coming from more than 14 different countries. The two day conference had two parallel sessions and covered a range of bulk material handling topics, including belt conveyor simulation, design and operation, silo storage and discharge and pneumatic conveying. Other topics covered were dust control, plant optimisation, bulk materials processing, materials properties, and more.

Participants did not only discuss in numerous sessions of the conference, they could also make new contacts and network in the exhibition which took place besides the conference. 13 exhibitors took their chance to present their products and services to the highly qualified audience.

BulkEurope 2008 also offered a social programme besides the conference. All participants, speakers and exhibitors enjoyed a relaxed evening at the dinner on the 11th. Czech beer, Bohemian food and a great view over the golden city of Prague made this evening a big success.

Once again, BulkEurope 2008 succeeded in bringing together an audience from academia and industry. A lot of fruitful discussions, new contacts and meeting old friends from all over the world were the outcomes!
